15 day Three Countries in One Safari - Namibia North - Botswana - Zimbabwe (Victoria Falls)

Day 1 & 2  Windhoek / Namib Desert / Sossusvlei / Namib Naukluft Park

Head south from Windhoek through desert shrub savannah to the edge of the plateau and down to the Namib Desert floor. The Sossusvlei Dunes area, one of the most beautiful places on earth, boasts some of the highest dunes in the world with ancient Camelthorn Trees, endemic Nara bushes, desert adapted Oryx, Springbok and Ostriches as well as awesome landscapes. The morning will be spent here on photography, dune climbing and to visit places such as Dune 45 and the Tsauchab River bed. The afternoon is set aside for a hike in the area, possibly the Sesriem Canyon or Elim Dune or the Naukluft Mountains.

Day 3 & 4  Swakopmund / Kuiseb Canyon / Walvis Bay

Travel west through desert gravel plains, via the stunning Kuiseb Canyon and Moonlandscape to Swakopmund situated on the Skeleton Coast. A full day is set aside to spend here along the coast with a morning visit to Walvis Bay, home to a wide variety of bird species such as flamingo, pelican and numerous waders. The afternoon is free to partake in optional extra activities at Swakopmund such as scenic flights, dolphin cruise, dune boarding, 4X4 quad biking and lots more.

Day 5  Twyfelfontein / Cape Cross

Travel north along the Skeleton Coast to Cape Cross where a breeding colony of Cape Fur seals (80000-100000) can be seen. From here, head east along gravel roads, through open plains changing to granite hill formations in central Damaraland. This is the area where the Damara people of Namibia have been living for nearly 6000 years!

Day 6, 7 & 8  Etosha National Park

Morning visit to the Twyfelfontein rock engravings and bushman paintings before heading north-east via Khorixas to the Etosha National Park. Two full days will be spent in this amazing wildlife reserve on game drives and game viewing at numerous waterholes. Etosha is unique, in that game come to drink during the hottest times of the day, this being the safest time when predators are resting, where large numbers of up to seven or eight different species of game can be seen at one waterhole.

Day 9 & 10  Popa Falls / Mahangu Game Reserve

Exit Etosha at the eastern gate and head north via Grootfontein to Rundu, a remote frontier town situated on the banks of the Okavango River where it forms the northern border with Angola. On the route, detour to visit the Hobas meteorite, one of the largest in the world! From Rundu, travel east to the West Caprivi, the Pops Falls area. A full day is set aside to enjoy this beautiful area, especially the Mahangu Game Reserve which is situated on the Okavango River where it flow south-east into the Kalahari Desert.

Day 11  East Caprivi / Kwando River

Travel east to enter the Caprivi region and then cross over the Okavango River at Bagani when the river bends south to flow into Botswana. There will be time available to spend in this area on game drives, bird watching and to visit a local village. This is a beautiful area of Namibia, totally different, not as arid as the rest of the country, but sub-tropical with rivers, wetlands, lots of birds and animals such as hippo, crocodile, elephant and buffalo.

Day 12 & 13  Botswana / Chobe Game Reserve

Today the group will travel past Katima Mulilo to enter Botswana at the Ngoma border post, and continue on to Kasane situated on the banks of the Chobe River. The Chobe National Park is known for its large herds of elephant, buffalo and large prides of lion.

Includes one 3-hour game drive & one 3-hour boat ride

Day 14  Victoria Falls

Enter Zimbabwe at the Kazungula border post and travel on to Victoria Falls. The afternoon is free to visit these beautiful waterfalls and explore the town - the entry fee for viewing the Victoria Falls is NOT included.

Day 15  Victoria Falls

Free day before transfer to the Victoria Falls airport.
