Day 1

Morning arrival in South Africa, your guide will meet you at Johannesburg International Airport (JIA). Depart to Pretoria for a city tour that includes the Voortrekker Monument, Paul Kruger House, Church Square and Union Buildings. Lunch in Pretoria. The rest of the afternoon at leisure, dinner at the Carnivore restaurant. Overnight near Johannesburg.

Day 2

Travel via Middleburg, Lydenburg and Sabie (Long Tom Pass) to Hazyview situated in the province of Mpumalanga. Visit the old gold rush town of Pilgrim's Rest a museum in its entirety. Overnight in Hazyview.

Day 3

Travel the Panorama Route of the majestic Drakensberg Mountains, admire the natural beauty of the Bourke's Luck Potholes, God's Window and the Blyde River Canyon, which is the third deepest canyon in the world, lunch along the way. Enjoy some African culture with singing, dancing and dinner at Shangana, a traditional Shangaan village, meet the chief with his 3 wives and 36 children. Overnight in Hazyview.

Day 4

Depart for the world-renowned Kruger National Park (KNP), visit Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Center and Kapama Cheetah Breeding & Research Centre. Enter the KNP through Orpen Gate, enjoy the rest of the day in the KNP. Overnight in the KNP.

Day 5

Enjoy a full day in the KNP in search of the "Big 5" and a host of other animals. Travel to the southern part of the KNP. Overnight in the KNP.

Day 6

Today we travel through the mountain kingdom of Swaziland to Zululand. Lunch along the way. Overnight on a private game reserve situated near the small town of Hluhluwe. Dinner will be served at the camp - traditional bush braai. Overnight at Bonamanzi.

Day 7

This morning you have an option of joining the ranger on a game walk, rest of the morning at leisure. This afternoon we travel to the Hluhluwe / Umfolozi Game Reserve to enjoy an open vehicle safari, in by-gone years this reserve was the hunting grounds of Zulu Kings. Dinner at the camp's restaurant. Overnight on Bonamanzi.

Day 8

Take a cruise on the St Lucia estuary, a lake riddled with crocodiles and hippos in the Greater St Lucia Wetlands. Depart after the cruise to Shakaland for lunch, check into hotel. Enjoy Zulu hospitality at its best with a traditional Zulu festival at Shakaland, dinner at the hotel.

Day 9

A day of history and battlefields, visit places that still exude an ambience of a once mighty Zulu nation, such as the "Battle of Blood River", the Anglo-Zulu war battlefields of Isandlwana and Rorke`s Drift. Overnight in Dundee.

Day 10

Travel to Giants Castle in the Natal Drakensburg mountains also known as the "barrier of spears" via the historical city of Ladysmith stop for lunch on route. Dinner at the lodge restaurant. Overnight in the Natal Drakensberg Mountains.

Day 11

A day at leisure in the beautiful Natal Drakensburg Mountains where Bushmen left their life stories in the form of paintings and drawings on the rocks and in the caves. Visit Giants Castle cave for a guided tour or take a walk along one of the numerous nature trails in this park. Dinner at the lodge restaurant. Overnight in the Natal Drakensberg Mountains.

Day 12

Travel the Oliviershoek Pass to the village of Clarens and the Golden Gate Highlands National Park. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the hotel or take a walk along one of the numerous nature trails in the park. Horse riding and game drives are also available.

Day 13

A day of traveling through the picturesque Eastern Free State visiting small towns such as Ficksburg, Ladybrand and Zastron. Overnight at Tussen Die Riviere / Gariep Dam Nature Reserve.

Day 14

Travel to the historical town of Graaff-Reinet known as the "Gem of the Karoo". Spend the afternoon in the Karoo National Reserve and the "Valley of Desolation". Evening at leisure. Overnight in Graaff-

Day 15

After a leisurely breakfast we depart for Oudtshoorn in the Klein Karoo (semi desert area). Afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Oudtshoorn.


Day 16

Visit Cango Wildlife Ranch, Safari Ostrich Farm and the Cango Caves. Overnight in Oudtshoorn.

Day 17

Travel via Outeniqua Pass to George a 60km drive that reflects the great diversities of nature South Africa has to offer. Travel along the Garden Route to Knysna. Visit the "Big Tree", Bloukrans and the Storms river suspension bridge in the Tsitsikamma National Park. Overnight in Knysna.

Day 18

Morning at leisure in Knysna. Take the ferry across the Knysna lagoon to the Featherbed Nature Reserve for lunch, a 4 x 4 trailer-ride tour and a hike to the western head of the estuary. Evening of leisure. Overnight in Knysna.

Day 19

Travel to Cape Town via Riversdale and Swellendam. Optional and weather permitting - we take the cableway up Table Mountain. Dinner at a restaurant on the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Overnight in Cape Town.

Day 20

Take a scenic drive around the Cape of Good Hope, which was proclaimed by Sir Francis Drake as the "Fairest Cape in the whole circumference of the earth". Visit Hout Bay and the Cape Fur Seal colony on Duiker Island, Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, Cape Point an the Boulders - Penguins. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Cape Town.

Day 21

A day to do what you please - shopping or just relax at the hotel or visit Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens or you could visit Robben Island, the place where Mr. Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years. Overnight in Cape Town.

Day 22

Wine tasting and cellar tour at one of the wine estates along the Cape's world-renowned Stellenbosch Wine Route, also visit the quaint historical towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Enjoy sundowners on Signal Hill before your farewell dinner at Vijff Vlieghen (Five Flies) Restaurant. Overnight in Cape Town.

Day 23

Late morning departure for a tour of South Africa's beautiful Mother City, this tour includes the Castle of Good Hope, Parade Ground, City Hall, Houses of Parliament, Tuinhuis and the Dutch East India Company Gardens. Lunch at the V & A Waterfront, time for last minute shopping and weather permitting an optional helicopter flip over the Cape Peninsula. Transfer to Cape Town International Airport for your flight home.
