The harsh rocky desert region at the southern tip of Namibia has made travellers think that God has forgotten this land. Not so! Just 20 kilometres from the main viewpoint of the Fish River Canyon National Park, off the dusty D324, you'll find the Canyon Lodge, an oasis seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Tall weather-beaten granite boulders mark the location of the lodge and form an integral part of the overall design. An old farmhouse, originally built in 1908 by three Bavarian brothers, has been restored to serve as the Lodge Restaurant. Its main attraction is an awe-inspiring view of the canyon landscape, which needless to say, makes a meal at the restaurant truly an experience not to be missed. Decorated with farming implements dating back to the previous century, and combined with the lively chatter of guests and staff alike, success is evident in the atmosphere that seems to linger amongst our visitors who enjoy our warm hospitality and traditional Namibian food.
The Daisy Country Lodge is a tranquil place, situated outside of Springbok, on the farm Biesjesfontein where a million jewels fill the sky every night. At Daisy Country Lodge, you will find accommodation of the highest standard. Both in comfort and in luxury. All our rooms are air conditioned with en suite bathrooms. Each room also has its own entrance for better privacy. All the rooms are equipped with a bar-fridge, DSTV (satellite tv), coffee making facilities and high quality linen for your comfort.
There is a special wilderness area in Namibia, encircled by Erongo Mountains, where the desert, mountain, and bushveld ecosystems combine. Here, in a secluded valley, you will find a lodge with ten luxury tented chalets in a dramatic setting of granite boulders and breathtaking views.
The lodge has 10 tented chalets, built on stilts, set against towering granite formations. Each chalet has its own niche amongst the rocks, ensuring peace, privacy and exclusivity. With a large, central fireplace, comfortable lounge and our 'mokoro' bar, this area is as much for unwinding as it is for fine wining and dining. Languid days are spent at the adjacent swimming pool and 'relaxation' deck.
Kulala Desert Lodge is one of Namibia's best situated lodges in terms of its proximity to the sand dunes at Sossusvlei. A sunrise excursion into the dunes leaves a few minutes before sunrise, with breakfast eaten under a camelthorn tree near Sossusvlei. As Kulala Lodge has a private entrance to the park the Sossuvlei excurison can by-bass the main park entrance at Sesriem. Accommodation at the lodge is in one of twelve thatched and canvas chalets or "Kulalas" (Kulala in the Namibian language "oshiwambo" means "to sleep") with en-suite bathrooms and showers. These are set on wooden platforms to provide maximum airflow. For outdoor enthusiasts, mattresses can be moved to the rooftop to sleep under the stars from a private star gazing platform.
Kulala Desert Lodge has a lounge, bar dining area and small pool. A veranda overlooks the waterhole allowing views of wildlife and the wide open spaces of the Namib Desert.
The Desert Homestead offers simple but stylish accomodation in thatched chalets which were designed with the fragile beauty of this remarkable environment in mind. The lodge is situated approximately 32 kilometers from Sesriem, the gateway to Sossusvlei.
The Desert Homestead offers respite from the extreme temperatures of the Namib Desert. Set in tranquil surroundings, alfresco dining, delectably fresh farm cuisine, refreshing dips in the pool, stunning sunsets and sunrises are the basic pleasures of the lodge. The lodge offers 20 thatched, en-suite chalets, all luxuriously decorated in pale linens and dark wood riempie furniture. Each unit has its own verandah under a latte canopy with northern views extending to the Rotterkaum Mountains. Inside the chalets provide luxury, with large single or double beds and en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet. The lights and fans in the guest accommodation are solar powered. A special feature of the lodge is that all the guest amenities (soaps, shampoo, body lotion etc.) are environmetally friendly.
Set in the heart of the Zaris Mountains in Namibia, Zebra River Lodge offers a peace and tranquillity that is not easily found, even on the quietest of roads. Tucked away in the canyons, enjoy the familiar atmosphere of a small guest house, either joining in or spending time on your own, depending on your wishes.
Our rooms are individually decorated and are spacious enough for an extended stay, should relaxation be the focus of your holiday! The most spectacular feature of Zebra River is the dramatic canyon landscape and the endless hiking opportunities this affords. There are 13000 hectares to explore - in solitude, or guided should you prefer. Enjoy the variety of fauna and flora!
This is a hotel with a mixture of culture, Sam's Giardino in Namibia offers very well decorated en-suite rooms, breakfast and dinners. Sam also specialises in cigars and fine South African wines. Regular cigar and wine tasting nights add to the character of the establishment. Sam's Giardino is one of the better guest houses in Swakopmund, it has a unique style, which seems to mirror Sam's philosophy on life.
